Pastor Dr. Johannes Feldmann
Dr. Johannes Feldmann, a Protestant theologian, became a member of the Board of Management of the v. Bodelschwingh Foundation Bethel in January 2011. During the time of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) he worked as a parish pastor and as chaplain in the Stephanus Foundation in Berlin; later he became director of the social welfare department in the Evangelical Church in the GDR. After the unification of Germany, the Social Welfare Organisation of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) made him responsible for coordinating structures of social welfare work in East and West Germany in order to bring them into alignment with one another. From 1994 Dr. Feldmann was director of what is now known as the Hoffnungstal Foundation Lobetal, Since 2002 he was also in charge of Bethel institutions in Berlin. He has three grown-up children.
