The v. Bodelschwingh Foundation Bethel operates the largest protestant general hospital in Germany. It is located in East Westphalia and treats some 50,000 patients annually. The Bielefeld Evangelical Hospital assures basic medical care on the one hand, and it treats highly complex symptoms in accordance with the latest scientific developments on the other. The academic teaching hospital, which is a part of the University of Münster, contributes to world-wide medical progress via intensive research and teaching.

Bethel holds a majority share in the Evangelical Hospital Königin Elisabeth Herzberge (KEH) in Berlin. As a general hospital with 120 qualified doctors, it offers optimal diagnosis and treatment for a wide variety of diseases.The KEH in Berlin-Lichtenberg is one of the leading treatment facilities in Germany in the fields of epilepsy and urology. The hospital operates two psychiatric day clinics and a renowned psychiatric unit for children and adolescents as part of the city’s provision of mental health services. KEH is a teaching hospital of the Berlin Charité.
