Applicability
The user clarifies this data protection declaration concerning the type, scope and objectives of the investigation and utilization of personal data by the responsible provider, Bethel Stiftung, Koenigsweg 1, 33617 Bielefeld, telephone: +49 521 144-3512, e-mail: presse[at]bethel.de on this website (in the following “Offer”). The responsible provider, as an ecclesiastical agency, is subject to the stipulations of the Data Privacy Protection Act of the Ev. Church in Germany (DSG-EKD).pr.information[at]bethel.de

Access data/ server logfile
The provider (and/or his web space provider) collates data about every access to the offer (so-called server log files). Associated with the access data are the following:

Name of the web page called up, file, date and time of the call-up, data quantity transferred, message about successful call-up, browser type with version, the operating system of the user, referrer URL (the page visited before), IP address and the inquiring provider.

The provider uses the protocol data for statistical assessments only, for the purpose of the operation, security and optimization of the offer. However, the provider reserves the right to subsequently check the protocol data if, based on concrete reference points, there exists justified suspicion of an illegal use.

Establishing contact In case of establishing contact with the provider (for example by contact form or e-mail), the information items of the user are stored for the purpose of processing the inquiry, as well as for the case where questions arise regarding the connection.

Comments and contributions If users leave comments in the visitors book or other contributions, their IP addresses are stored. This is implemented for the security of the provider if somebody writes illegal contents in comments and contributions (insults, prohibited political propaganda, etc.). In this case, the provider himself can be prosecuted for the comment or contribution and therefore has an interest in the identity of the author.

Cookies
If users call up the offer, one or more cookies are stored on their computer. A cookie is a small file which includes a certain character string and identifies your browser unambiguously. With the aid of cookies, the provider improves the convenience and quality of his service where, for example, user settings are stored. Cookies cause no damage to the computer of the user and contain no viruses.

A use of the offer without cookies is also possible. Users can deactivate the storage of cookies in their browser, limit the storage of cookies to certain websites or adjust their browser so that it informs them before a cookie is stored. They can delete the cookies at any time from the hard disk of their computer, using the data protection functions of their browser. In this case, the functions and user convenience of the offer could be limited.

Handling of the data of the user
In case of the collation, processing and use of the data of the user, the provider is always obligated to apply the stipulations of the legal regulations relating to data protection as best as possible. Therefore any processing is checked by the company Data Protection Officer before first deployment. Those persons who are active with the provider are obliged to data secrecy.

Activation of service providers
Provided that the offering agency entrusts service providers with the completion of work for the company, they are contractually obliged to comply with the data protection standards.

Forwarding of data
Person-related data which the user has made available to the provider is not passed on to other companies. In exceptional cases, due to legal stipulations or judicial decisions, the provider can be compelled to pass on personal data to government agencies. In this case, the user can be sure that the admissibility of such a forwarding will be checked.

Revocation, changes, corrections and updating
The user has the right, on application and free of charge, to be provided with information about any personal data which has been stored. In addition, the user has the right to the correction of false data, blocking and deletion of his personal data, insofar as no legal obligation to preserve account records for a specified period prohibit this.

Web analytics

The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address anonymized prior to its storage) will be stored on the server of the service provider in Germany. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.
